The project seeks to trace and study texts that traveled from East to West, illuminating the cultural and intellectual exchanges through a comprehensive digital database. This research covers the period from the reopening of trade during the Tang dynasty (around 700 AD) to the peak of the Mongol Empire's "Pax Sinica," concluding in the 1700s with the continuators of the movement toward cultural and scientific exchange, spearheaded by what George Harold Dunne termed the "Generation of Giants."

The project investigates a wide range of textual materials—manuscripts, printed works, and translations—while integrating research across multiple languages and disciplines. This interdisciplinary approach leverages the synergy between the humanities and digital technologies, aiming to create a unified platform that offers a global perspective on East-West cultural exchanges—insights that have traditionally been accessible only to scholars proficient in specific languages.
