Stamp of the Royal University of Genoa (large format, 4.5 cm x h.2.5 cm); on a separated paper, a manuscript notes “Rev: do Patri Preposito Domus Professae Genuensis Societatis Jesu =Carolus Turottis”, from Carlo Giovanni Turcotti (1634-1706) to the Reverend Father Prepositor of the Professed House of the Society of Jesus in Genoa. The text is present in duplicate within the collection (see 15)
Description
(Physical description) Incomplete, only the commentary part of 徐文定公光啓 Xu Wending gong ( Xu Guangqi) is present. The datation is 萬曆四十四年七月 July 1616. The text is binded with another text (See 14 a). When opening the book in the Western reading direction, there is a loose cover sheet, but with the modern location of the book written in pencil [(Rari I.VII.14(2)], bearing the handwritten note “Rev: do Patri Preposito Domus Professae Genuensis Societatis Jesu =Carolus Turottis”. Red leather cover, decoration with golden flowers on the spine and on the nail, marbled paper back cover applied to the front and back board; wire-bound endpapers without the presence of watermark; 18th century binding.
